Brown-throated Martin, Plain Martin
Binomial Name: Riparia paludicola
In Bangladesh, the Brown-throated Martin is a common small-sized aerial bird [bird thatflies most of the day]. Despite being a resident bird, it is not seen everywhere. A mixed
flock of Barn Swallows flies and roams in rivers or ponds almost daily. It hunts and eatssmall flying insects from water or grass, especially mosquitoes and flies. During the
breeding season from October to February, the nest is made of grass and feathers bymaking tunnels on the banks of rivers or in steep sandbanks.
