at Dubai Safari Park, Dr. Ali Reza Khan, was the editor of this journal. Shimanto Dipu haspublished a list of 320 birds in the Sundarban in his ‘Sundarban at a Glance’ article.
In 2014, the Integrated Resource Management Plan (IRMP) released a report. Accordingto that report, 320 species of birds are in the Sundarban. [Bangla Tribune, 31 January 20].
Mr. Sayam U. Chowdhury is a well-known biologist, wildlife conservationist, and researcherin Bangladesh and abroad. He published his 15-year research paper on birds in the
Sundarban in December 2020. His research paper mentioned 299 birds in the Sundarbanof Bangladesh in the 15 years from 2005 to 2019.
The ‘Birds of the Sundarban Biosphere Reserve’ were released in December 2020 by theZoological Survey of India under the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change,
Government of India. The book states that there are 428 species of birds in the Indian
Sundarban.
In this book, ‘ Birds of the Sundarban’, we have included visual information for 269 birds.
We are not saying that there are only 269 birds in the Sundarban. Here we have highlightedthe information about the birds we received directly or indirectly. Our idea is that there are
probably more species of birds in the Sundarban; maybe we haven't seen them.
