Birds of the Sundarban

(Foridi Numan) #1

Clamorous Reed Warbler
Binomial Name: Acrocephalus stentoreus
The Clamorous Reed Warbler migrates to our country from Siberia, Mongolia, or Central
Asia in winter. It is a common migratory insectivorous bird in the list of birds of Bangladesh.
In winter, they roam in marshlands of all divisions, tall grasses around lakes, ponds, and
swamps of mangrove forests. The bird is shy in nature but noisy. They can sing very well.
Their favorite foods are grasshoppers and insects. For this reason, alone or in pairs, it
wanders in reeds or high grass. They breed from Egypt eastward through Pakistan,
Afghanistan, and northern India to southern China and Southeast Asia from May to August.
