Mallard
Binomial Name: Anas platyrhynchos
It looks a lot like a domesticated duck. This Mallard is the ancestor of most species ofdomestic ducks. They are spread worldwide, so ornithologists call them a universal species.
The Mallard is a rare migratory bird of Bangladesh. They roam the coastal rivers of thecountry's extensive marshes or shallow lakes in winter. Walking along the water's edge or
dipping one's head in shallow water to find food. The food list includes fish pollen, aquaticshrubs, tiny snails, small frogs, cereal seeds, etc. The breeding season is from April to July.
During this time, they build nests and lay eggs near the grass in Siberian waters.
