Binomial Name: Anser anser

The Greylag goose is a rare migratory bird of Bangladesh. In winter, it roams the coastal
areas of Bangladesh. Additionally, can find it in sizable reservoirs in Dhaka, Sylhet, andRajshahi, as well as vast marshes. Greylag geese are mainly herbivorous and feed chiefly
on grass. They also eat leaves, berries, water plants, glean grain on cereal stubbles andsometimes feed on growing crops such as oats, wheat, barley, buckwheat, lentils, peas,
and root crops. These birds may also consume small fish, amphibians, crustaceans,
mollusks, and insects. Greylag geese are monogamous and mate for life. The breedingseason usually occurs in April-May. Greylags nest on the ground among the heather, rushes,
dwarf shrubs, or reeds or on a raft of floating vegetation. The nest is built from pieces ofreed, sprigs of heather, grass, and moss mixed with small feathers and down.
