Binomial Name: Dinopium javanense
The Common Flameback is an uncommonresident bird of Bangladesh. Also, in the
mangrove forests of Khulna and Chittagongdivisions, broad-leaved evergreen forests,
moist deciduous forests, and villagegardens, they roam alone, in pairs, or a
mixture of Racket-tailed Drongo and otherinsectivorous birds. At the lower level of the
forest, the tree branches collect food by
stinging. The diet list includes ants andother insects. Occasionally, it lands on the
ground. Eggs are laid in holes dug on leaf-covered tree branches during the breeding
season, which runs from January to May.
