Binomial Name: Pelargopsis amauroptera
This Kingfisher greets the tourists of the Sundarban by flying in front of the boat andshouting. It is seen only in the Sundarban. The Brown-winged Kingfisher is a common
resident bird of Bangladesh. The bird is considered almost endangered throughout theworld. They roam along the flowing rivers of tidal canals and mangrove forests. Wandering
alone and in pairs. They catch prey by jumping from a high dose. The food list includesfish, crabs, and reptiles.
