Craft Stamper – July 2019

(Barry) #1
Bee Yourself
By Beverley Brown
The background was created by first painting the whole tag white. Once dry, I sponged
on pink, yellow & turquoise acrylic paint using white to blend them together. I continued
this process until I had achieved the look I wanted. While the tag was drying, I used
Distress Oxide inks on watercolour paper to create a lovely sunset effect. I lightly
stamped the French Script background in grey ink over the top before die cutting the
piece into an hexagonal background. Before using the die cut background to adhere
hexagons to the tag, I stamped it with the silhouette foliage image from Just Because.
It created a beautiful shadow effect as the ink merged with the painted background.
I added some stamped and layered bees, the top layer is stamped and embossed on
vellum. My idea behind this was to create movement as if the bee was buzzing around. I
added some simple uplifting sentiments and lots of my favourite Nuvo Drops to finish!
