Something New
Stamp designed and carved by

The idea of creating a few foundational
designs, with customisable aspects, means
that the whole design process is much faster,
I save all of the base designs digitally and then
add the personalisation when I sit down to
carve.
This is the first stamp in the range and, it’s one
of the more minimal and elegant options. In
future designs, I want to make sure that I cover
a broad spectrum of wedding décor styles,
and incorporate those ideas into my stamps.
As well as covering different design themes,
I want to make sure I provide stamps at all
price points so that every couple can have
something bespoke for their wedding day. I
hope to continually add to this collection as
both my personal tastes and wedding styles
change.

Custom Creations

The approach I use when carving custom work,
compared to carving one of my own designs,
differs quite a bit. When collaborating with a
customer it’s a partnership, I don’t have the
final say on the design. However, sometimes
there are small changes that need to be made
to ensure the stamp doesn’t lack detail when
carved. Adjustments can include increasing
very thin lines or resizing tiny lettering. Once any
alterations have been made I print out the design
and transfer it onto the rubber.

Custom stamps always come with a little added
pressure. This design, for example, is a logo
stamp that is going to be used on the packaging
of the client’s photography. It will most likely be
the first thing their customers see when they
receive their prints. It is therefore, crucial that it
accurately represents the quality of the business
it’s been made for. I know how important branding
is to me, and so for other business owners to put
their trust in my skills to create a stamp that they
feel proud enough to adorn their hard work with, is
always incredibly humbling.

“I love the challenge of custom stamps. To carve
something which has sprung from the imagination
of someone other than myself feels almost
like a breath of fresh air. It gives a whole new
perspective to my carving process.”
