Create stunning backgrounds using Resist
Mediums! by Michelle WebbR
anger’s Distress Resist Spray and Distress Micro Glaze can give you great
resist effects in your creative art. The Resist Spray dries clear with a textured
surface and is water resistant. The Micro Glaze can be used to fix inks with an
impermeable layer, which will resist water based colour that is applied over the top.
You can make really interesting layers on your backgrounds using these products, by
just playing with them and getting used to what they can do, resulting in some happy
accidents.
You can combine these products with all kinds of things in your
crafty stash from stencils and stamps to foil and mica
powders. I discovered that if you rub foil onto dried Resist
Spray, the foil stuck onto the Resist Spray nicely, giving
lovely foil effects, with a distressed texture too, what
a bonus!
The glaze can be used on your stamps safely, it’s
easy to clean off and results in a nice sharp resist
detail, which pops when you apply water based
colour over the top.“Be sure to have some soapy water at hand
and use a cardboard box when using the
Resist Spray, it’s a sticky devil and dries
quickly. You’ll need to wash off your stencils
and craft mat straight away! But the effects
are fantastic”
