Craft Stamper – July 2019

(Barry) #1

The Happy Couple

By Clare Lloyd

I simply brayered two colours onto my
Gelli plate. Then, to make a background
pattern, I stamped into the wet ink and
added some die cut circles so I could
mask out little windows for my birds once
printed. This print was a great base for
adding more images from the stamp set,
creating depth and forming a dimensional
scene for the front of my card. The mats
were distressed using a distressing tool,
and as a finishing touch I added the text
stamp to my card blank to tie everything
together.

Artists Trading Coin
By Clare Lloyd
For my Artist Trading Coin, I created
another Gelli print using the same Oxide
ink colours as my card, but this time
spritzed water onto the background
itself. To create more of a watercolour
effect on the flower and foliage images,
I inked them up then gave them a spritz
with water while still on the block, then
stamped the images onto my coin.

“I love Gelli printing
but don’t like the mess
when using paints.
Inking up the plate
with Distress Oxide
inks not only creates
a lovely effect but also
there is a lot less mess
to clear up!”
