STAGE 2 SELECTING

COLORS IN HARMONY

Let’s apply a first coat of colors

that communicate character to the

whole picture. It is a combination of

yellow and violet.

STAGE 3 APPLYING A FIRST LAYER
OF WET IN WET
We need a balance between the colored areas indicating the
relationship between cold and warm. In order to create some depth,
the objects in the foreground will be warmer while those in the
background will be painted with colder tones.

STAGE 4 MAKING A REFERENCE TO OBJECTS

Now I concentrate on the main accent and make a reference to the

minor accents. The figures become the centre of attention and are

described in detail. The yellow space becomes more vivid through

the trees.
