Preseason opponents
Thursday, Aug. 8
Atlanta at Miami
Time: 7:30 p.m., ET
Site: Hard Rock Sta-
dium
Television: WFOR-TV
(Miami)
Preseason series record:
Miami leads 9-8
Last preseason meet-
ing: 2018 at Atlanta;
Dolphins 34, Falcons 7
Scouting report: The Falcons are hoping to
bounce back in 2019 after missing the playoffs
when their season unraveled after a rash of in-
juries on defense. Atlanta remains a potent of-
fensive team thanks to QB Matt Ryan and WR
Julio Jones, and the Falcons added tackle Kaleb
McGary in the first round of the 2019 draft.
Worth noting: This will mark the third time in
six years the Dolphins open the preseason
against Atlanta (also in 2014, 2017).
Friday, Aug. 16
Miami at Tampa Bay
Time: 7:30 p.m., ET
Site: Raymond James
Stadium
Television: WFOR-TV
(Miami)
Preseason series
record: Dolphins lead
17-14
Last preseason meet-
ing: 2018 at Miami; Bucs 26, Dolphins 24
Scouting report: The Buccaneers are starting
over with new head coach Bruce Arians and
looking for their first playoff berth since 2007.
Among the newcomers are first-round pick
Devin White and former Dolphins DT
Ndamukong Suh.
Worth noting: The Dolphins and Buccaneers
will hold two days of joint practices in Tampa
before the preseason matchup.
Thursday, Aug. 22
Jacksonville at Miami
Time: 8 p.m.
Site: Hard Rock Sta-
dium
Television: FOX
Preseason series
record: Dolphins lead
6-4
Last preseason meet-
ing: 2013 at Jack-
sonville; Dolphins 27,
Jaguars 3
Scouting report: The Jaguars made a huge
move in the offseason when they released QB
Blake Bortles and signed former Eagles
backup and Super Bowl hero Nick Foles to a
big free agent contract. The defense got a
boost with first-round pick Josh Allen, the pass-
rushing phenom from Kentucky.
Worth noting: The Dolphins have won the past
five preseason meetings, including one-point
victories in 2008 and 2010.
Thursday, Aug. 29
Miami at New Orleans
Time: 8 p.m.
Site: Louisiana Super-
dome
Television: WFOR-TV
(Miami)
Preseason series
record: Dolphins lead
14-7
Last preseason
meeting: 2013 at
Miami; Dolphins 24, Saints 21
Scouting report: The Saints have made few
changes since last season when they suffered
a controversial playoff loss. The one change is
at running back where Latavius Murray has re-
placed Mark Ingram. Quarterback Drew Brees
still leads the way.
Worth noting: This will be the seventh consec-
utive preseason game between the teams that
will come in the final week of the preseason.
