special prosecutor was put in place.
Nixon’s sneak attack in the dead of night
on a weekend was essentially an abuse of
power, and a shocking one at that as both
news reports and polling showed.
We should be careful about trying to
make an exact fit between that situation
in 1973 and the situation with the current
administration, because for one thing the
special prosecutor investigating President
Trump finished his work and filed his
report many months ago. The pattern
laid out here could have something to do
with that, or it could relate to a foreign
policy issue between this country and
another, so it is the pattern we should
keep in mind as we watch events unfold
in October. P
