Though people tend to think of themselves as a single sign,

or maybe three signs if we include the Sun, Moon, and

Ascendant, in a sense we are all signs. If you look at your

birth chart, you’ll see all 12 in there, with

each making its contribution in its own

way. As the Moon moves through the

signs each month, and the Sun moves

through the signs each year, it can be

said that each sign’s contribution to

how we feel, think, and act ebbs and

flows within us. To see how this works,

take a look at “The Sign That Powers

Autumn” on page 38.

Among the planets used by most astrologers, some seem to

work well together while others are what might be considered

“odd couples,” the chief of which is the pairing of Saturn

and Neptune. One is the firm disciplinarian, while the other

seems to run on pure imagination and hopefulness. Oddly

enough, however, a current sextile between the two shows

us they can actually work together in certain situations, as

“The Mystic Marriage of Astrology’s Odd Couple” explains

on page 32.
