OCTOBER 2019 69
2FWREHU EST Aspects Commentary
The best part of the day, though, occurs with the
sextile to Jupiter and the semisextile to Pluto. These
make the afternoon a time for thoughtful conversa-
tion about big ideas and even bigger dreams.
Yesterday’s ideas and dreams are a mere whisper next
to today’s various combinations of the Sun with Nep-
tune and the Moon’s fly-bys to Mercury, Venus, and
Uranus. Practical work goes out the window, as ex-
act answers to precise questions are nowhere to be
found. Artists and musicians will soar, while everyone
else may find the going difficult.
Thursday’s aspects are a lesser version of Wednes-
day’s aspects, yet showing more balance between
pure creativity and the kind of clear vision we need to
apply to real-world problems. Except for the Moon’s
late sextile to Saturn, the general tenor of the day is
sociable, friendly, and relaxed.
Brief lunar contacts to the Sun and Neptune act as a
transition from the feelings of the last two days to the
more difficult planetary aspects we will see tomor-
row. On this in-between day, we should take time to
complete the week’s unfinished tasks.
Today and tomorrow bring us heavy involvement of
Venus and Mars with each other and with Uranus.
Uranian aspects in general mark times when indepen-
dence from the crowd is on our minds. Venus and
Mars aspects involve choices about who we will align
ourselves with. Both breakups and makeups are like-
ly, as we strive to make the right choices.
With an exact Venus semisextile to Mars, the two
planets are still close enough to Uranus to continue
yesterday’s theme, though the mood tilts away from
personal choices and toward social choices. Gos-
sip and criticism move our decisions about who is
a friend and who is not. Sun sextile Jupiter at Full
Moon advises that friendly and helpful voices from
those with a kindly, objective viewpoint of the current
scene can save us from our worst instincts.
It is always nice to have a thoughtful and objective
aspect like today’s sextile of Mercury to Saturn follow
a day when the aspects have urged us to make deci-
sions based on emotions and personalities. The ques-
tion most on our minds today is “What do we have to
do, and how do we go about doing it?”
Under normal circumstances, Mercury trine Neptune
invites flights of fancy in which we depend on what
others tell us more than on what the facts suggest.
Fortunately, the movement of Saturn toward an exact
sextile to Neptune early next month brings a balance
between fantasy and reality that keeps us from going
overboard and keeps us moving ahead.
“Hump Day” is just that, in astrological terms, as the
planets shift us from one direction to another, leaving
us wondering how to lumber along. We move toward
a powerful and decisive outer-planet combination,
but not under our own power.
The most powerful contact between Jupiter and Pluto
is the conjunction, but the semisextile is hardly weak.
