tion of these two. People with big plans on their minds
dominate the scene today.
Since Jupiter and Pluto are outer planets, what reached
a crest with their aspect yesterday will remain strong
through early November. During that time, we are
likely to think of the long-term consequences of our
short-term actions, especially when it comes to mat-
ters that increase our ability to control our lives.
In contrast to Jupiter-Pluto, Mercury-Pluto aspects are
often involved in very short-term decisions that have
to do with commitment. With aspects like the conjunc-
tion or square, we tend to say “no,” but with today’s
aspect, we are likely to say “maybe,” and often with-
out thinking about it. That makes for a pleasant day.
The day’s two key aspects (Mercury-Jupiter and Venus-
Saturn) are reflected in the Moon’s aspects as well,
presenting us with a cross-current between hope for
key relationships to work and serious thoughts for the
commitments and compromises necessary to make
this happen. This is not as negative as it might seem,
as good, long-lasting marriages or business partner-
ships are made by balancing hopes against realities in
order for the two sides to get what they want. In other
words, this is a day for discussion and straight talk, so
we should make the most of it.
Last Quarter adds a positive note to what we were
dealing with yesterday, as it means that in terms of
the lunar cycle we are at our best now as we are clos-
ing out the month and looking forward to the future.
Learning from past experience is a good thing of
course, but new experience is just around the corner!
The helpful vibes of the last two days begin to wane,
replaced by a turn toward realities that have little to
do with relationships, and more to do with everyday
needs and problems. This is a time to consider how
we can work more efficiently.
Yesterday’s thoughts about efficiency are enhanced
by today’s emphasis on Scorpio and Virgo, the first of
which looks at things with a keen eye, and the other
of which has us adding the details that will make our
insight most effective. Group communications and de-
cisions are not so important now, as applying our own
individual brain power to work we must do now.
Yesterday’s trend continues today, and though we may
find ourselves working hard it won’t be because some
boss is standing over us and cracking the whip. All of
today’s low-key aspects are best handled by finding a
place where we can be on our own, so close the door.
In contrast to yesterday, we are more likely to find it
better to work with others, mainly because of Venus
sextile Pluto. This is not necessarily an advantage,
though, as we may be too inclined to yield to other
people’s opinions rather than to stand on our own.
Discussions about what to do and when are much
more useful than simply asking a question and then
