makeit looktougher,suchasabold chrome grille, while under the

metal itreceived the up-to-date‘Boosterjet’ petrol engines.

Most customersare likelyto stickwith front-wheel drive, and

enginesstart with the 1.0-litreBoosterjet producing110bhp.

There’s alsoalarger1.4-litreand both enginesare economical.

DrivetheSX4andyou’relikelyto have morefunthanyouexpected,

as thehandlingandsteeringgiveitanagile feel.TheSX4can be a

bitnoisier than the best-in-class,but it settles down on the motorway.

TheSX4S-CrossisshorterandnarrowerthanaNissan Qashqai,but

it’s morespaciousthanmanyothercrossoversin its pricerange.There’s

plenty of headroom, although thepanoramicroof in theSZ5isrestricting.

Suzuki hasdoneagoodjobwith the boot,with 430 litres on offer.
