thelarger XC90 intoasmaller and (slightly) moreaffordablepackage.

Volvo’sstrategyofusingthesame enginesacrossall of its models

meanstheXC60 also shares thesame 2.0-litreengines, poweringthe

front or allfour wheelsthrough an eight-speed autogearbox.The T8

Twin Enginehybridis expensive partly dueto thefact it’s only offered

in high-spec trimlevelsandpartly dueto its sophisticated setup.

On theroad,theVolvoXC60is comfortable, smooth and quiet.

We’d pass on theR-Design trim, though. It looksgreat,butits big

wheelsspoilthe ride.Even then, it’s not quiteascomfortableasa

MercedesGLC or as sportyas aJaguar F-Pace. The T8is very fast,

butitdoesn’t have asporty drivingexperiencetomatch.

Inside,Volvohasn’tsacrificed practicality and there’s enoughroom

forfivepeople.Knee, shoulder and headroom areall plentiful in the

front andback.The bootwill take505 litres –morethantheLexusNX

andPorscheMacan, but145 litres fewerthanthe F-Pace. Goforthe T8,

and thehybrid runninggeardoesn’t have an impact on thisspace.And

whichever trimyouchoose,you’llget plenty ofstandardequipment.
