makesthe Mondeoapretty quickcar,covering0-62mph in just 8.4
seconds.Ahybridis also availablewitha2.0-litrepetrol engine, electric
motor and smallbatterypack. It’s notas goodto driveasthestandard
versions,butlowemissionsreducetaxbills forcompany-cardrivers.
The MondeoEstateisn’t assharpto driveasits predecessor,but
it’scomfortableonabumpyroad.Instead,thecar’skeyattributeis
itslarge, spaciousinterior,whichwilleasily accommodatefour
grownadults. It doesn’t havequiteasbig abootastheVolkswagen
Passat Estate, though, so it might not beyour first choiceifyou
frequentlyhavelargeloads toshift. The bootis well designed,
though,withrear seats thatfoldflushwith the boot floor.
Material qualityhas takenastepup, andFordhasboosted
technology, addingastandardeight-inchtouchscreenwith
itsSYNC3infotainment system, includingvoice-recognition.
