TrustedReviews|Owner Opinion|ExpertAdviceTHE MG GS definitelyhaspriceonits side.Although thisChinese-
builtSUV appearstobearivalforthe Nissan Qashqai andRenault
Kadjar,it’s actuallyalittlebit bigger than both of them.
The downsideto the MG GS’s attractivepricingisthatthe
modelis offeredwith just one engine. There’s no diesel in the
range, butatleastthe 1.5-litrepetrol is turbochargedforextra
performance. However, it returnsjust46.3mpgand emits
139g/km ofCO2, so itscompany-carcostsaren’tcompetitive.
Butifyou’reaprivatebuyernot doingmuchmileage,you’ll
appreciatethe petrol engine’s performance. Itcando0-62mph in

The GS lookslikearugged4x4,butit’s only availablewith front-
wheel drive.Asix-speedmanualgearboxisstandard,withaseven-
speed dual-clutchautomatic an option on the highest trimlevel.
Thesteeringwheel and driver’s seat offerplenty ofadjustment,
makingit easytoget comfortable, while rear-seatpassengers get
plenty of headandlegroom. One negativeisthe GS’ boot: at just
335 litres,there’slessspacethan inaQashqai orKadjar.“Aslong as you’re happy witharelatively small
boot and petrol engine, the MG GS looksgood,
drives well and is pretty generously equipped”MG GSGenerous equipment, great
