Although there’s no seven-seat option,familiesare likelyto find the

Kadjarapracticalcar. There’sspaceforthreeto sitintherear without

squeezingshouldersandauseful arrayof cubbyholes.Thestretched

rear of theKadjarcomparedto its Qashqaisistercar meansits boot

is 42 litreslarger than the Nissan’s. At 472 litresthere’s enough

spacetheretocraminloadsof stuff,and it’llexpandto 1,478 litres

if youfoldthe seats. Higher-spec trims alsohaveamoveable

boot floor,whichcan beplaced so there’s no loadinglip.

TheKadjar’s enginesare sharedwith the Qashqai. Those whocover

lessthan12,000 milesor soayearwillbewellservedbythe 1.3-litre,

138bhp petrol engine, while the 158bhpversionis availablefor those

whowant alittlemoreacceleration. Ourfavouritemotoris the 113bhp

1.5 diesel, whichboastseconomyofupto60mpgand an 11.7-second

0-62mph time. Its emissionsare the lowestin therange, too.

The whole Kadjarrangeisrelativelywell equipped,withDABradio,

LEDdaytime runninglights, air-conditioning, Bluetooth andastereo

compatible with MP3 and USBstoragestandardacrosstherange.
