1-2. Knowing we would need a simple and reliable
way to wrangle the wires for our new KC lights, we
laid out the parts and began installing the sPOD from
Precision Designs. Mounting the Source 6-Circuit
Power Distribution System beneath the hood was as
simple as removing two bolts next to the Jeep’s ECU
and using them to secure the mounting plate. From
there, one positive and negative lead connected the
Source to the Jeep’s battery, and one more set of
wires was run through the firewall to the switch panel
inside the cab.

3-5. After bringing the
sPOD wiring harness
through the firewall, we
removed the interior
trim pieces from inside
the A-pillar as well as
the two Torx bolts hold-
ing the footman loop to
the windshield frame.
The bolts were reused
to attach the six-switch
bezel to the windshield
frame via the included
mounting bracket. The
switch bezel features
blue backlighting to
easily identify its func-
tions in low light.

6-8. After drilling through our aluminum front bumper, the Gravity
LED Pro6 lights mounted into their respective holes, one on each side
of the bumper, as close to the winch as the bumper’s internals would
allow. After plugging in the Deutsch connectors, we connected the
leads to the sPOD in lieu of KC’s included wiring loom and switch.
Each 20-watt light draws 1.63 amps and projects 2,300 lumens
through an amber lens in a DOT-compliant beam pattern.
