LONG-TIME hot rodder and Tri-Five enthusiast Richard Adlington landed this two-
owner 1955 2 door post sedan from Chattanooga. It was purchased from a retired
pharmacist’s 22-car collection and came available during a “thinning of the herd”.
The tudor has had a frame off restoration but has travelled to NZ via Richard’s
brother Steve in AZ who fitted dropped spindles, tubular A-arms, 700R trans and
new wheels etc. on the way home. Under the hood is the rebuilt 265 which Richardnew wheels etc. on the way home. Under the hood is the rebuilt 265 which Richar

THE Chevrolet built and sold 10,939 Corvettes in 19 6 1with a base price of
$3,934. Fifty-eight years later this numbers matching, fully restored example cost
significantly more than that and has just landed via Chucks. It features the original
283ci V8 with twin four-barrel carburettors, 2 4 5 bhp; it’s original manual 4 -speed
transmission and dual exhaust system. The paint is Jewell Blue with a white
convertible top, and it also has a removable hard top. The matching interior is
Jewell Blue vinyl with blue carpeting. It has been driven less than fifty miles since
restoration and is in mint showroom condition.³Merc-O-Matic
JONOTHAN Gilbert just landed this rust-free 1958 Mercury Voyager Pillarless
Hardtop Station Wagon via Kiwi Shipping. It sold new in Glendive, Montana
but was found in Stockton, California under recent ownership of Dan and Patti
Crowder who put miles on it (and dollars in it), to bring it to a roadworthy classic
cruiser wearing its original patina. They rebuilt the front and rear suspensions
plus the brakes and repowered it with a fresh 1959 4 30 horsepower Lincoln motor
shipped, in from Sarasota, FL. The push buttons to the left of the steering wheel
are the “Keyboard Control” for the Merc-O-Matic transmission. Its an amazing piece
