THE first Flatlands Motorama was held at the
Autotron Expo in Rosmalen, the Netherlands on
April 6 & 7. Event promoters are not beginners in
our sport, Henry Van Uden ran a successful show for
nine years the Rockin’Jalopies, and Miles Sherlock
was part of the team who hosted the Hotrod Hayride
for seven years in Britain. He also staged in 2016
the popular Leadroom, a show dedicated to the
early custom cars styles in Brighton, UK. These
guys sure know how to put on a good show!
Being an invitational pre-1968 traditional hot
rods and custom cars show, Miles and Henry
selected Europe’s best hot rods and custom cars
to fill up the Autotron Expo and its 10,000 M2
of indoor space over two floors. If you add a
good mix of vintage choppers, custom trucks
and some custom vans, the Autotron was the
perfect venue to host a custom car show. The
Flatland Motorama’s lowbrow and kustom art
show featured a large number of artists such
as pinstripers, sign writers, painters, graphic
designers, tiki sculptors and much more. A large
number of traders were also selling hot rod parts,
clothing and memorabilia during the weekend.

Rob from the
Camshakers Car Club in
France had his awesome
‘34 Ford coupe shown for
the first time. The coupe
is powered by a hopped
up smallblock Chevy.
The interior features
custom-made bombers
seats covered in leather.
