Saudi Aramco and Baker Hughes, a GE company (BHGE) signed a
memorandum of understanding to create a new joint venture facility in
Saudi Arabia to manufacture non-metallic materials.


A pipeline in northern Iraq transporting oil from Kirkuk to Ceyhan, a port in
Turkey, was set ablaze after six improvised explosive devices went of in Ain
al-Jahsh village, but the fire was put out and no injuries were reported.


ADNOC could be planning to launch a regional oil benchmark, Reuters
reported, citing four anonymous sources. The plan has reportedly not
been finalised or approved by the emirate’s Supreme Petroleum Council.

Halliburton has signed a $597mn contract with Kuwait Oil Company
to explore for oil offshore Kuwait. This comes as the nation looks to hit
4mn barrels per day (bpd) of production by 2020.

Oman’s Ministry of Manpower has extended a temporary ban on allow-
ing expats to take on jobs for 87 professions in ten sectors, including
engineering, information systems and some technical professions.

Bahrain’s oil minister issued an edict to reform the board of national
oil company BAPCO. Dr. Dawood Nasif was appointed chairman of the
BAPCO board.
