Petrofac inaugurated its construction skills training
centre in Hassi Messaoud, Southern Algeria,
following the completion of a programme to upgrade the
centre’s facilities. The centre will provide training for the next
generation of Algeria’s oil and gas industry workforce, with a
capacity to train up to 400 Algerian delegates annually. The
centre was designed, built and will be operated by Petrofac.

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund has report-

edly acquired 40% of Jasara Program Management,

a social infrastructure management services joint venture

between Saudi Aramco and Jacobs Engineering. Bloomberg

reported that PIF purchased 30% of Saudi Aramco’s stake in

the joint venture, and 10% of Jacobs’ stake. This leaves Aramco

with a 20% stake in Jasara, and Jacobs with 40%.

Emerson has acquired Zedi’s software and automa-

tion businesses. In a statement announcing the

acquisition, Emerson noted that the addition of Zedi’s cloud

supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) platform

would enable Emerson to help oil and gas producers increase

production and lower operating costs through cloud-based

monitoring, control and optimisation.
