#2 - Spend the Night at a
Heritage Bungalow

Assam is all about the tea and
rightfully so. The smell and taste
of Assam tea is not something that
you forget easily once you have
tried it. During your visit, you will
no doubt sample some and pick up
a few pouches to take back home
with you, but wait, there is more.
Why not take a trip down memory
lane and stay a night at Burra
Bungalow (Wild Masheer) and
experience first-hand the lifestyle
of a British tea planter? Steeped
in history and offering the best in
hospitality, it is the perfect place to
appreciate the beauty and peaceful
vibe of a tea estate.

#3 - Pub Hopping in Guwahati

Guwahati has the best nightlife
scene in the whole of Northeast
India. You can indulge in pub
hopping, dance the night away or
listen to local bands. Live events
are more likely to be held on
weekends, so call before you go.
There are many places that you
can try, but if you are looking to
have a good night on a budget
then we suggest Shanghai Salsa
and Urban Mantra. Both these

places are favoured by hip young
localites so you may even end up
making new friends.

#4 - Cruise on Brahmaputra
River

There is something quite
special about Brahmaputra River,
and if you want to witness its true
beauty, then you have to appreciate
it with the sunrise or sunset in the
backdrop. You can enjoy the river
from the shore in Uzan Bazaar,
Guwahati, that can be accessed
free of cost, or you can opt for one
of the river cruises. We highly
recommend the sunset cruise by
Alfresco Grand that costs around
`400.

Pro Tip: If you have no budget restrictions then
opt for the dinner cruise that costs R1300, wh ich
includes a three-course meal and entertainment in
the form of folk dances and songs.

#5 - Go on a Date with History

No visit to Assam can be
complete without partaking in its
interesting history. One of the best
ways to do that would be to travel
to Sivasagar and explore historical
monuments like Rang Ghar,
Kareng Ghar and Talatar Ghar. The
