WHILE MANY of us are
thinking about summer
holidays or making the
most of the weekend
sunshine, rugby’s top
players are being put
through gruelling
regimes to ensure they are in the best
shape possible for the World Cup.
Every four years coaches come up
with new ways to get their team fit and
firing, while players raise the bar as they
compete for a place in their nation’s
31-man squad for the global showpiece.
No one wants to put all the hard work in
and then not make the plane to Japan.
We got a fantastic insight into Wales’
preparations with an access-all-areas
pass to their training camp – find out
more on P50-55 – and selection calls
are going to be hard for Warren Gatland
and the 19 other head coaches.
Stephen Jones turns selector (P32-35)
by picking his England World Cup squad
- but will Eddie Jones agree with his
choices? With plenty of time until the final
calls are made, let’s wish all the players
vying for World Cup places good luck.
