Assemble the coilover components and crown with the old top
mount and bump-stop: fit the old rubber boot. Do up the top nut and
perhaps spray the mount with a rust inhibitor.

10

Trial fit the coilover assembly to ensure it doesn’t foul on any of
the other suspension parts. With the Gaz units it also meant we
could establish which direction the adjuster should face – outwards.

13

Undo the 17mm nut on the lower shock absorber mount and remove
the bolt. 14

Remove the split-pin from the front hub’s upper ball-joint and then
undo the 17mm nut. Be aware though that this joint won’t just now
fall open because it is a tapered fit and requires encouragement...

11

Lever down the wishbone and guide the coilover up the strut tower,
ensuring the top mount studs locate properly. Refit lower damper
bolt and nut. Refit anti-roll bar mount. Repeat on other side.

12

Jack up the front end of the car. Loosen the 17mm nut on the front
of the lower wishbone (for camber adjustment) then the one on the
rear (caster adjustment).
