As tensions simmer in Hong
Kong, many residents said they
were expecting life to return to
normal and hoped the govern-

under extreme pressure, can
fulfill their duty to bring violent

criminals to justice.
Those most affected are
the Hong Kong people them-

would stay unaffected by US ac-

with financial opening.
Both the onshore and off-
shore yuan breached the 7
mark against the
US dollar for the
first time in more
than a decade on
Monday.
