researchersand engineershavecar-
riedout trial demonstrationsofan
electrictailrotor.Theyare making
preparationsfor the devicetobe
usedona 2 -metric-ton helicopter
during preliminaryflighttests,
Dengsaid.
“Replacing a conventionaltail
rotorwith an electricone isthe first
step in exploring andverifyingthe
technical feasibility of an all-electric
helicopter,” Deng explained.
Withinthe coming decade,the
Chineseaviation engineers will
strivetobuild an all-electric heli-
copter.

Chinesesatellitestook clearpic-
turesin 24 ofthe disasters, including
an earthquake in Indonesia last year
andacyclonethatra vagedSouth
Africa and MozambiqueinApril.

cial intelligence and big data, Jiang
and histeam haverecorded more
than 4, 000 infrared cameravideo
clipsoftigersand morethan 600
clipsofleopards.
“Bycomparing dataontigersand
leopardsofChina and Russia from
201 3to2015,weconfirmthat 17
tigersand 42 leopardsareshared
populationsofbothChina and Rus-
sia,” hesaid.

With billionsof charitable clicks
and donationsrecordedonline last
year,officialswiththe Ministry of
CivilAffairs told a newsconference
onJuly2 9 thatmorewill be done
tocountermisconductinvolving

crowdfunding.

billionpageviewslast year,and
manyfundraisershavereported
thatnearly 80 percentoftheir
donationswereraised inthe
cybersphere.

dation’spopular“99CharityDay”
asan example. Hesaid morethan
2 8 millionnetizensparticipated in
the annual charityeventonSept9,
donating 8 30 millionyuan.

Work-relatedillnesses
higherthanreported

China hascharted morethan
970 , 000 casesofoccupational
diseasessincerecordsbegan, but
the actual numberof employees
affected by work-related illnessesis
much higher,aseniorhealthofficial
saidonJuly30.
Theunderreported dataislargely
d uetolowratesof healthscreenings
designedtodetectconditionsarising
fromworkplace activities,aswell as

China,Vietnampolice
smashgamblingring

Police fromChina and Vietnam
havecracked a large cross-border
online gambling gang and captured
1 06 Chinesesuspects,accordingto
the Ministry ofPublic Security on
July30.
Amongthe 106 suspects, 29 were
arrested across the country.The
other77,whowerearrested in Viet-
nam, have been escorted backto
Chinatofacecharges,accordingto
the ministry.
Meanwhile, policesmashed 15
gambling densand confiscated
morethan 2 , 000 bank cards,itsaid.
In January, Vietnamesepolice
discoveredthattheChinesesus-
pectshadopened casinosin Viet-
namto solicitChinese gamblers.
