No parading in front of the jury was involved;
instead, the tattooees all went on stage at the
same time and were given tokens by the jury
members who particularly liked their tattoos. The
one with the most tokens was the winner for the
category. All this happened under the watchful
eye of MC and former Total Tattoo editor James
Sandercock, who led the proceedings. Having
witnessed the 'Western' way of doing
competitions for the last 25 years, I appreciated
the streamlining of the contests, which too often
can become drawn out and tedious.
