kitsch sea critters, and
coral print are huge this
season. Designers have
taken inspiration from
shells and beachcombing, so
wear a cheerful, shell clutch to
add a little pizzazz to an occasion.
For something more sophisticated,
there are many prints that suggest
the texture and colour of natural
shells. An oversized shirt-dress is
a perfect cover-up for a day at the
beach; accessorise with a rope
waist belt and deck shoes for a
laid-back look. This deep-sea
dress is a real showstopper with
its lively, seabed print and shiny
metallic fabric. Jewellery including
shells, rope and sea glass would
complement any beach lover’s style.If you want the nautical trend to work
in a luxury setting, it has to be on
board a cruise ship. Head-to-toe crisp
white pieces look elegant with a silk
headscarf and metallic sandals to
create a very chic look. Culottes
are so easy to wear. Team navy
striped culottes with a white
blouse and espadrilles for an
easy maritime style. Rope-
look jewellery works well
with this trend and this metallic

for evening wear. A pair of linen
trousers, a silk camisole and a woven,
oversized hat is a simple outfi t for the
