HRD Antwerp & Gem Lab Announce Lab Take-in Service


HRD Antwerp, Europe’s leading authority in diamond
certification, and Gem Lab, a division of Malca-Amit
Group, announced a new collaborative service on June
8th, 2018, whereby Gem Lab becomes an authorised
‘HRD Antwerp LabDirect Program’ participant. Gem Lab


will serve as the point of contact for clients in their network
who wish to obtain an HRD Antwerp grading report. They
will handle all logistics and administration, allowing HRD
Antwerp to focus solely on grading. Thanks to this newly
established Laboratory Take-In service, more clients will
have fast, consistent and convenient access to HRD Antwerp
laboratories around the world.
David Ziegler, commercial director of HRD Antwerp, said,
“This new cooperative venture with Gem Lab enables HRD
Antwerp to significantly expand its European reach as we will
have access to the extended network of Malca-Amit Group.
In return, customers in European diamond centres will
enjoy faster and easier access to HRD Antwerp laboratory
services.” Boaz Lev, MD of Malca Amit & Gem Lab Belgium,
added, “With this agreement between HRD Antwerp and the
Malca-Amit group, diamond companies will be empowered
to a seamless access to HRD Antwerp diamond grading
services. We look to enable customers all over Europe and
around the world access to premium services, offered in
Belgium, with ease and absolute peace of mind.”
This Laboratory Take-In Service will first be offered to
European clients. It is possible to submit for grading loose
diamonds as well as diamond jewellery. 

The Jewellery Intensive – A Jewellery-focused Travel Experience


The Jewellery Intensive is targeted at anyone passionate
about jewellery, including jewellery design students/
professionals, merchandisers, manufacturers, entrepreneurs,
retailers, and diamond & gemstone dealers. 

Questerra, an experiential travel platform, has initiated a
15-day programme called The Jewellery Intensive to help
participants learn the intricacies of the jewellery industry.
Scheduled in the second half of August 2018, the jewellery
expedition will span three cities – Jaipur, Mumbai and
London – and will be curated by journalist Preeta Agarwal
and mentored by jewellery blogger and social media
expert, Katerina Perez, founder & editor-in-chief of
http://www.katerinaperez.com.
The core of The Jewellery Intensive is experiential
learning from industry stalwarts, senior mentors and
seasoned professionals. It covers three basic pillars of the
jewellery industry – tradition, trade and design – including
everything from jewellery design to trends, traditional
jewellery making techniques to modern jewellery trade,
from effects of social media to PR.
Activities will include visits to museums like Gyan
Museum, Amrapali Museum, V&A Museum London, and
exhibitions displaying British royal family jewels and more.
The itinerary will cover jewellery factories and workshops
in India and London. The intrepid jewellery enthusiasts
will also get to interact (in person and through video
conference) with industry leaders like Farah Khan, Tarang
Arora of Amrapali, Sunita Shekhawat, Poonam Soni, Anand
Shah and Nirupa Bhatt of GIA.
