Hyatt Regency Kathmandu Supports Nepal Child Protection

2019 Mega Auditions for
Kathmandu Concluded
Ms. & Mr. Hospitality Nepal 2019
started in a bid to make Visit Nepal 2020
a success has successfully concluded its
mega auditions for Kathmandu on 6
July, 2019

The auditions were held at Gossip Café
and Bar, Hattisar where students from

over 200 hundred hotel management
institutes took part according to judge
and former Miss Nepal Sugarika K.C.

35 male contestants have been selected
and 31 female contestants have been
selected through the mega auditions
held in Kathmandu.

The objective of this competition is
to facilitate a successful Visit Nepal
2020 in the tourism, hotels and airlines
industry.

Earlier, another round of auditions was
held in Itahari where participants from
Dharan, Biratnagar and Itahari took part
for the competition.

Monin Cold Brew Masterclass
Monin held a cold brew master
class at the Universitadel Café
at Silver Mountain College that
taught the teachers and baristas
attending the event the different
variations of cold brew coffee.

The master class was held Mr.
Hemant, Monin Ambassador,
UAE who introduced and touched upon various subjects of cold
brew.

In addition, guests were also taught how to prepare drinks using
cold brew such as the Rose Iced Latte.

A future master class was also announced, five of which will be
held outside the capital and three inside the capital. The classes
will seek to help participants take part in global competitions.

Ice Kraft Nepal and Hotel Shangri-La
Introduces Cold Stone Ice Cream In The
Country
To beat the summer heat, Hotel
Shangri-La in association with Ice
Kraft Nepal has introduced to the
Nepali people the world-renowned
cold stone ice cream in an event held
at the hotel on 21 June, 2019.

This ice cream is known for its live
preparation in front of the eager
customer. Currently four flavors are
available such as the Black Chocolate Monster and the
Tropical Lagoon. Additional flavors are promised to hit
the live station soon.

The cold stone ice cream can be enjoyed at Hotel Shangri-
La’s premises until 30 September 2019

Each year in the month of April, Hyatt
hotels around the world come together
to make a positive impact in their
communities. This year, the Global
Month of Community Service was
scheduled for the month of June.

With activities both large and small,
Hyatt’s employees volunteered their
time to impact the issues that are most
important where they live and work,
in line with four Hyatt Thrive pillars:
Education and Career Readiness,
Environmental Sustainability,
Health and Wellness and Economic
Development and Investment.

To celebrate the NINTH Global Month
of Community Service, Hyatt Regency

Kathmandu extended its voluntarily
work to Child Protection Home,
situated in Siphal, a nongovernmental
organization committed to improving
the lives of children in Nepal and
helping them succeed.

The organization was established in
1964 as a not-for-profit organization
and has developed into one of the most
extensive childcare and development
programs offered throughout the
Himalayan Kingdom.

NCO focuses on childcare and
education for orphaned, abandoned and
conflict affected children; rehabilitation
of dependent children of prisoners;
promotion of children’s rights; national
and international adoption of children;
educational support to children from
low-income families; and strengthening
the capacity of its nationwide network.

A team of 40 associates completed
320 volunteer hours, while the hotel
supported this initiative by providing
various supplies to 107 students
including 43 pillow covers and mattress
covers, painting of ceilings, rooms,
corridors, bunk beds and stairs along
with cleaning of the area.
