Faces of Plus Two Season 2
Announced
Faces of Plus Two Season 2 was
announced in a press conference held
at the Vinayak Siddha College on 30
June, 2019 here in the capital. Given the
success of its first season, organizers
are confident of a similar reception.

The organizers want to help participating
students by empowering them to stand
out among the masses by realizing their

inner beauty and help gain confidence.
“Confidence Breeds Beauty”, is the
motto of Faces of Plus Two and students
from around the country can take part in
the pageant.

Winners and runner ups stand to receive
cash prizes along with a wide variety of
other prizes which include a free visa
processing and air ticket to Australia.
Interested participants are encouraged
to enter the pageant which requires a
registration fee of NRS 15,000.

National Skill Competition in Cookery Concluded
Sunsari Nepali of Province 3 was declared Winner

Mix & Mingle at Aloft Kathmandu Thamel with a
Chocolate-Infused Soiree

To mark the occasion of World Chocolate
Day on 7 July, Aloft Kathmandu,
Thamel hosted a chocolate infused
soiree which included a 3-course meal
inspired by incorporating the range of
flavors of cacao bean.


Attended by a close group of social
media influencers and celeberities, the
dinner was an opportunity for Aloft’s
key management team members
to showcase the culinary skills and
property in an intimate setting at the
Nook.


The Executive Chef Mr. Shailendra
Singh and Executive Sous Chef,
Mr. Rajeev Shrestha, had prepared a
chocolate infused 3 course meal, which
included the Homemade chicken liver
paté with caramelized apple, fig and
chocolate orange sauce; pan-seared
chicken with a Mexican chocolate sauce
and a frosted chocolate parfait.


The Director of Food &Beverage, Mr.
Deependra Singh and Executive Chef,
Mr. Shailendra Singh, opened the
evening welcoming all the guests.

A sweet-infused evening was hosted
by the Aloft Kathmandu Thamel team
to countdown the opening of the Aloft
Kathmandu, Thamel as well.

“Aloft Kathmandu Thamel is different
by design, and we wanted our guests
to enjoy a savoury 3 course meal with
a twist. We will be bringing in more
experimental and new age food to
entice your taste buds in the days to
come”, said General Manager, Mr.
Vikram Singh.

Aloft Kathmandu Thamel managed by
the Shanti Hospitality Management
Services (SHMS), has 167 rooms and
caters to today’s modern traveler. Urban-
inspired design, accessible technology
and innovative programming centering
on music, food and beverage make
Aloft Kathmandu Thamel, unique to the
traditional hotel landscape.

Aloft Kathmandu Thamel managed by
the Shanti Hospitality Management
Services (SHMS), is targeting to open in
August 2019, and is located in Chhaya
center.

The first National Skill Competition in
Cookery was recently organized by the
Council for Technical Education and
Vocational Training (CTEVT), National
Skill Testing Board, among others with
support from Nepal government and
Swiss government in Pokhara.


The event was organized to showcase
the talents of individuals and those
working in the hospitality sector of the
country.


A total of 163 participants from all
seven provinces of Nepal took in the


competition with 14 participants who
were short-listed competed for the
grand prize.

Sunsari Nepali of Province 3 was
the adjudged as the winner of the
competition and took home a cash prize
of NRS 100,000.

Similarly, Ramesh Thapa from Province
3 placed second and won NRS 75,000
while Om Prasad Dhakal from Province
5 was declared third and awarded NRS
50,000.

Global Academy of Tourism and
Hospitality Education (GATE College)
oversaw the management and its
coordination as the event partner.
