or the past few issues, we’ve teamed up with
some of the country’s most talented creatives
to bring you exclusive collections for our
online store – a site that’s fast becoming one
of the country’s most unique shopping destinations
for African design. From asking graphic designers to
interpret a new vision of Johannesburg to commissioning
five ceramicists to produce a special, limited-edition
range of tableware, our collaborations have resulted
in one-of-a-kind pieces with a distinctly local flair.

For this Design and Architecture Issue, we tasked

Something Good Studio, a South African arts collaborative

that supports women in the arts and crafts industry, to

come up with an architecturally graphic winter blanket.

Something Good Studio founder Zydia Botes enlisted

the help of artist Maja Maljević for our collaboration,

who looked to Ludo – her favourite childhood game

• for geometric, playful inspiration. The blanket will
  be available exclusively in the House and Leisure Shop
