out of the kitchen and ventures off
the beaten track in a globetrotting
new series premiering this month.
Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted has the Brit
“connecting with locals to learn and share
incredible stories of unique traditions,
delicacies and the extreme lengths it takes
to harvest native ingredients”, he explains,
adding: “I have learned way more filming
this series than I have in the last 10 years.”
From the jungles of Laos to spearfishing
in Hawaii and mushroom foraging in
Morocco, Ramsay seeks out culinary
inspiration. In New Zealand, he meets
chef Monique Fiso, a champion of the

really fun to get him to do a hangi pit,” she
says of the traditional method of cooking
with heated stones buried in the ground.
“Leave the fine-dining stuff at the door –
we’re at the mercy of a hole we dug and
a bunch of hot rocks!”
