The quiet peninsula of Tanjung Benoa, also known as a
watersports hub, just welcomed a Japanese casual dining
restaurant. Located inside Hotel Nikko Bali Benoa Beach, Nagisa
is led by head chef, Katsumi Goda, who boasts 44 years of culinary
expertise. Say kampai and drain a sake serving of Nagai Shuzo
Tanigawadeke (Rp280,000) or choose from a selection of shochu,
Japanese whiskies and beers. Seat at the counter and watch the
chef grill Salmon Teriyaki (Rp200,000) to perfection or order the
Soft Shell Crab Roll (Rp120,000). Nagisa also offers set menus such
as the Hakone Teppanyaki Course (Rp550,000), which consists of
salad, sashimi, sirloin beef, stir-fry vegetables, rice, miso soup, and
fruits. A small tea house is hidden at the izakaya entrance. That’s
where Goda-san conducts Japanese tea ceremonies on Monday
afternoons when customers can learn how to brew green tea.
