Last thing I took from a set

I took a set of Wakanda beads from

Black Panther. I keep them safe on a

bookshelf in the living room. I haven’t

had the nerve to wear them.

Last moment of pride

My daughter [Bronwyn, 13]

auditioned for a solo in her choral

group at school. She rehearsed and

practiced and was checking email

every day, so when she made it, I was

really happy for her.

Last time I cried

This morning on the treadmill.

I think I was running at like 10 mph

for 30 seconds, which felt like an

eternity. There was this slow anthem

song playing in the gym, and the

endorphins were surging. I guess

I was proud of myself!

Last fashion disaster

It was just something I pulled out and

thought was fine to go to dinner with

friends. We were photographed, and

someone commented I looked frumpy.

A billion people could say you slay,

and one person says the opposite, and

that’s what you remember.

Last moment of bliss

My son [Slater, 13] is insane about the

rapper Logic, and I took him to see

Logic at a music festival. He lost his

mind. And it was so blissful for me.

I am now mom extraordinaire for at

least a year—if not life!
