STREAMING & DVD

Four Weddings and a Funeral

Mindy Kaling has done it again,

stepping behind the camera to produce

Hulu’s anthology based on the 1994

film. The 10 episodes follow Maya

(Nathalie Emmanuel) as she reconnects

with college friends Duffy (John Paul

Reynolds), Ainsley (Rebecca Ritten-

house) and Craig (Brandon Mychal

Smith) in London. She quickly finds

herself immersed in their personal drama

and comes to understand her own crises.

And yes — there are four weddings and

one surprising funeral. (July 31)

Orange Is the New Black

It’s the end of an era. Netflix’s

boundary-breaking comedy-drama

kicks off its seventh and final season

with a new theme: moving on. Piper

(Taylor S chilling) struggles to adjust

to life outside the prison (and the chal-

lenge of finding a job), while things get

even worse inside. Plus, Pennsatucky

(Tar yn M anning, above with Uzo

Aduba) attempts to get her GED! Ex-

pect some old familiar faces (welcome

back, Taystee and Nicky!) and lots of

tears, both happy and sad. (July 26)

Veronica Mars

Brace yourselves, Marshmallows. It’s been 12 years since the

original series ended (and five years since the movie), but the Hulu

revival was worth the wait. Veronica (Kristen Bell) now runs Mars

Investigations with her dad and is attempting to make a relationship

work with Logan (Jason Dohring). “Veronica is still struggling with is-

sues of stability and commitment and being totally free to do what she

wants, when she wants,” creator Rob Thomas says. The P.I. is also a

little distracted: She’s got a serial killer to find in Neptune. (July 26)
