Killing Eve

● DRAMA / 9.15pm / BBC1

LAST ONE

The patchy second series
comes to a finish with a
finale that calls back to series one’s climax

  • a showdown between Villanelle and Eve.
But first there’s a whole load of blood-
letting to be done, by both the chaser, Eve,
and her quarry, Villanelle – though in this
second series it’s often been hard working
out who is pursuing who. Aaron, the vastly

up-himself tech magnate, has been riding
for a fall. But you don’t become mega-rich
by being stupid and there’s just
a chance Aaron has worked out who
Villanelle really is. As for Kim Bodnia’s
Konstantin and Fiona Shaw’s Carolyn –
this show’s secret weapon – again there’s
not enough for them to do. Let’s hope
series three makes amends. HHHSM

Zone of Champions

● ENTERTAINMENT / 6.45pm / ITV

NEW

Clip shows and home-video
compilations have been around
for decades, but this new series adds a slice
of satire to put a fresh spin on the genre.
Hosts Jack Bullman and Nicky Brimble
(John Thomson and Jessica Knappett)
carry the show as two sports presenters
purportedly rounding up the action from

a host of ludicrous events – owl rhythmic
gymnastics anyone? – but which viral
video star will be crowned champion?
The premise may sound strange, yet
John and Jessica’s comedy nous keeps
things moving, making this a series
the whole family will enjoy. HHHHSMA

Smallfoot

● FILM / 6.15pm / Sky Premiere

PREMIERE

Turning the legend of the Abominable
Snowman upside down, this jaunty
animated romp imagines a Himalayan village of 18ft
Yetis for whom the existence of humans remains but a
legend. Of course, no one believes the exuberant young
Yeti called Migo (voiced by Channing Tatum) who claims
to have encountered a fabled Smallfoot. Banished from
the village, he ventures forth below the clouds to prove
his claim. A frenetic slapstick charmer. HHHJB
