CONVOY IN THE PARK

(^6) Truck & DriverCitP Preview
Spectacular stunt drifting group Team
Maximum Lock will be returning to wow the
crowds at Convoy in the Park’s Live Action
Arena over the August weekend at Donington
Park in Leicestershire.
Team Maximum Lock – which comprises
Maltese stunt drivers Mark Galea, Christian
Bezzina and Clint Abela – produce
a combination of stunts, drifting and
synchronised driving in a range of high-
powered cars. They have been thrilling
audiences across Europe since 2010 –
including at the Convoy in the Park event last
year – and are not to be missed!
Get set for spectacular circus action
Roll up! Roll up! All the fun of the circus is returning to Convoy in the Park this
summer with shows from Happy’s Circus.
There is much more to the Convoy in the Park weekend than trucks, truck racing
and the smell of polish! On both days of Convoy in the Park, which is being held
at Donington Park, Happy’s Circus will be performing four 40-minute shows in the
600-seat Big Top tent that are free to enter.
Happy’s Circus is a professional all-human – no animals are used – performance
featuring amazing international artists including acrobats, aerialists, speciality
acts, magic and the ever-popular Happy’s Circus clowns – and much, much more!
The theme for the Circus this year is in the style of the movie musical sensation
The Greatest Showman. Among the spectacles on offer will be illusion, giant
cube manipulation, strongman demonstrations, aerial skills, magic, juggling and
clowns. The ringmaster keeps everything ticking along and there will be plenty of
opportunities for audience participation and loads of fun.
Stand-up
comedy
returns
There is more than just
trucks and racing to
Convoy in the Park – on
the Saturday night you
can also watch an evening
of top-notch live comedy.
After the success of the
comedy night at Convoy
in the Park in 2018, it is
returning, again run in
conjunction with charity
Stand Up for Humanity
(standupforhumanity.
co.uk).
Last year, acts including
Roger Monkhouse – who
writes for the popular
Channel 4 show 8 Out of
10 Cats – and Chris
Norton Walker played in
the Big Top to widespread
acclaim. While this year’s
acts have yet to be
confirmed, there will be
four comedians and an
MC who are sure to be
well-known names on the
thriving UK comedy
circuit. This year, the Big
Top has no fewer than 600
seats – but be sure to get
there early to avoid
disappointment.
A word of warning also

  • there is likely to be
    adult content in the acts,
    which may be unsuitable
    for younger ears.
