RENAULT RANGE T HIGH 520

Truck & Driver August 2019^55

Paul appreciates the T High 520’s cab space, good driver visibility and low noise levels

The T High has already found favour with drivers

Many highs, few lows

After the relative success
of its high-cab, flat-floor
Magnum, Renault has really
upped its game with the new
Range T. Sitting up in the
T High really does give the
driver command of the road,
thanks to superb visibility
boosted by the high cab roof
and, again, a flat floor.
Renault says its DTI 13
engines have the power to
allow operators to reach the
high and constant commercial
speeds required, but at the
same time deliver reduced
fuel consumption and lower
maintenance costs.
The T High models are
available with the DTI 13 Euro
6 engine rated at 440hp, 480hp
and 520hp, while three options
of Opti-Drive 12-speed, three-
reverse-gear transmission can
be had, depending on the size
of engine chosen.
The diesel tank has a
capacity of up to 1475 litres.
Renault’s High sleeper cab
is available as a tractor unit in

4x2 configuration operating
at 18 tonnes, and also as a 6x2
pusher-axle and 6x2 tag-axle
running at 26 tonnes. On top
of that there are also rigid
4x2 and 6x2 versions, again
operating at 18 tonnes and 26
tonnes respectively.
Renault also offers
operators the opportunity
of customising their new T
Range tractor unit both inside
and outside the cab, including
the option of painting the
front grille and mirrors the
colour of choice.
With its unique, sleek
design to also help boost fuel
efficiency and a host of safety
and comfort options, the
new Renault T High model is
certainly making the T Range
more appealing.
Although Renault will
struggle to be a major player
in the UK truck industry, the
new T High is certainly making
haulage companies – and
other truck manufacturers –
sit up and take note.
