on a new mystery since losing her
writing partner, Sara. Instead
she’s been reading mysteries. “Helen
McInnis is a very good writer of
World War II–era espionage thrill-
ers,” Geri says.
A
fter his diagnosis with kidney
cancer, Bob L. (Finding Alice, page
34) felt called to tell his children how
he came to believe in a higher power
and how that power guided him
through three decades of sobriety,
courtship, marriage, parenting, a
career and years of living with a ter-

dren live nearby. “Nothing
is better than being with my
family,” Geri says. “We get
together and laugh over good
food.” The ones who don’t live
in Utah give Geri a chance to
travel. A granddaughter in Washing-
ton just made Geri a great-grandma,
and Geri’s son and his family live in
California. “Their backyard has a
