they’ve taken their eyesofftheroadand
their handsoffthesteeringwheel.Theyalso

say they’verunthrough red traffic lights,

forgottentoindicate, brakedsuddenly,

swervedinto thenext lane, andevenbeen

forcedtostopthecar completely. Asa result,

parentsare increasinglyturningtoin-car

technologyinthequesttokeepthewhole

familysafeontheroad.

Theresearch highlighted thatavoiding

distractions is oneofthebiggestconcernsfor

parentswhenchoosingwhichcartobuy, with

oneinthree (34percent) saying theywould

actively lookfordrivingassistancesystems

whenchoosingtheirnextcar. These couldbe

automaticemergency braking, lanedeparture

warningand adaptivecruise control.

Crying and screamingtantrumstopthelist

ofkids’ misbehaviour(65per cent), followed

bybackseatbattles betweensiblingsor

friends(58percent),kickingthe backofthe

driver’s seat(49 percent), undoing theirseat

belts(43 per cent) and throwing toys around

thecar’s cabin(39percent).
