SEPTEMBER 2019 VOL. 43 N0. 09
What do you do when your favorite Corvette is the Grand Sport? Well, in Michael Sabo’s case, not having the
expected $10,000,000 that one might demand of the remaining five—if they were for sale—he opted to have one of
the Duntov Motor Corporation continuation series. Amazingly faithful to the original design, Mike’s Grand Sport is
the 16th in the continuation series. There are a handful of “deviations” that allow this Grand Sport, while remaining
faithful to the original design, to reflect Mike’s personal tastes in performance. We are confident that had the racers
back in the day had today’s reliable 586 lb-ft of torque at 5,400 rpm and 700 horsepower at 7,000 rpm the Grand Sport would have been even
more legendary ... it that’s at all possible. Photography by Chris Shelton.
