SAIL POLE
TO POLE
Boasting white sandy beaches, sparkling turquoise
water and endless blue skies, the Maldives is the
ultimate luxury holiday destination. It’s about to get
even better, with the JW Marriott Maldives Resort
& Spa officially opening its doors next month.
Located on Vagaru Island on Shaviyani Atoll,
the tranquil resort is a 55-minute seaplane flight
from Velana International Airport in Male. It features
61 spacious beachside and overwater villas, all
with private plunge pools. Other highlights include
five stand-alone restaurants, three bars and an
expansive wine cellar, an overwater gym, an
open-air yoga pavilion and an adults-only infinity
swimming pool. Prices start from US$810 per night.
A new ultra-luxury superyacht will allow guests to
cruise from the South Pole to the North Pole and
everywhere in between. After launching in September
2021, SeaDream Innovation will visit all seven continents
in its first 15 months, with stopovers in 200 ports across
49 countries. The epic three-month journey departs in
February 2022 from Ushuaia, Argentina, and begins with
a visit to the emperor penguin colonies of Antarctica.
During the grand voyage, guests will also encounter
beautiful beaches in Punta del Este and music and
nightlife in Rio De Janeiro. It will stop in Fernando de
Noronha, a stunning tropical archipelago of 21 islands
off the coast of Brazil that’s seldom visited by tourists.
From there, the journey will continue through the Canary
Islands and on to Casablanca in Morocco before
cruising past some of Europe’s most picturesque
coastal cities. Finally, Innovation will sail through
Norway’s spectacular fjords, where guests might be
lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a polar bear.
The 155-metre megayacht has 110 elegant and
spacious ocean-view suites, with a one-to-one guest-
to-crew ratio to ensure an intimate level of service.
Prices start at US$58,000 per person for the 88-day cruise.
