range. Through giving gifts to
the residents of nearby Pelican
town year round, you can get
close to, and even marry, them.
We were so endeared to the
locals that we gave it 8/10.

Mass Effect

While serving up an engrossing

space opera, this sci-fi shooter

series is also fondly remembered

for the pivotal role relationships

play throughout. Both Shepard and

Ryder can date a

number of aliens while

determining the fate of

the Milky Way or

humanity respectively.

Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds

PS Vita / £24.99

Set in the waning years of

the samurai, this historical

fantasy has a reputation for

being a heartbreaker. While

there’s always hope for a

happy ending, the road there

can be something of a

tearjerker. Kyoto Winds is a

remastered starting point

and eases you in gently to the

more supernatural aspects

that assume centre stage in

the followup, Edo Blossoms.

Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator

PS4 / £14.99

If that dreamy theme song doesn’t

hook you in, the puns just might. As

a recent widower, you’re encouraged

by your teen daughter to get back

out there and date some fellow dads.

So sweet it gave us a toothache, this

is a treat for genre fans and newbies

to the dating sim scene.
